Now Miss Nana is always up for an adventure. She quite enjoyed herself.

Miss Hyacinth sitting among the Lavender. I guess we should have called her Miss Lavender. She was not too sure about being at a Lavender Farm but I know when she is older it will be a wonderful memory.

You just can not beat an arm load full of Lavender. Last weekend we visited the Lavender Farm in Kelowna. It was a beautiful warm day. The Lavender is so much bigger than mine.

Isn't this a lovely piece of slate.
I seriously was seeing Lavender in my sleep last night. We plowed, we pulled weeds, we moved rocks, we dug holes and we planted many, many plants of Lavender. It was a gray, dreary and very wet day perfect cool weather to put the baby plants in the ground. I am not sure but they may be a bit close but I think it will be okay as I loose quite a few in the winter here.
I pulled on rubber boots and a rain coat and went to town on planting. I sure did pay for it in the middle of the night I was sore, my neck was sore (not too sure on why). So today on went the water and now cross your fingers it all makes it.
This afternoon I made my Mom, Dad, Allan and my kids sit right in the middle of the Lavender garden and drink Lavender Lemonade. It was wonderful the bee's were buzzing, the plants were in full bloom. My boys just about wrecked the place (they were excited). We took pictures yes a lot of fun.
Tomorrow we are off to visit the Lavender Farm in Kelowna.

Today I moved some of the Lavender out of the green house. I did plant a few and my goodness is it going to be a lot of work. I actually think I may have too much for my little gardens.
Our skies were stormy today but it still was nice and warm. I just ran out of time today so first thing in the morning I must get out and water my plants in the front yard. I will be off to bed now have a pleasant good night.

My dad used this lovely old cat to make a fire guard around our property. He used it to rough up all the dry needles on the top part of our property.
Tomorrow I am taking the larger plants out of the greenhouse to get them used to being outside. We will continue to work on the new garden and as soon we have the next cool spell I hope to get the Young Lavender plants in the ground.

Our babies are growing up so fast

My Lavender is ready to harvest. We do not have too much as our plants are young. I will cut it some time this week. I am finding the days are flying by. I have been so busy I see I have not posted since Wednesday. Between finishing my little house, planting, watering and weeding there seems to be no time left. Enjoy your summer days

Our Baby Robins have hatched. They are so cute with their little mouths so wide open in hopes of some breakfast.

My daughter packing the Lavender. We really did not too much but it is still fun to do. This morning it was warming up from a very cold 24 hours with quite heavy fog along the river. With the warmth in the morning when I stepped outside this morning...Oh my goodness the smell. It smelled so beautiful not really of Lavender it reminded me of medicine like it should clear ones lungs.
Lovely absolutely Lovely.

Harvesting Lavender. Only a small amount of our Lavender is ready to cut. I can't imagine how the big Lavender Farms do all the work. they also must get way more blooms than us. I was reading one farm harvested eighty pounds of Lavender to get eight - to nine ounces of Lavender oil. Wow that is crazy.
Mine is only a small hobby. I could never get too big as it is too much work for one person. I will however make wonderful things. We have had not quite one week of warm weather and it is raining outside quite good at the moment. The rain is fine as long as we can still work.

We are enjoying our heat. It is a good thing! We went from layers to over a 100 in the shade. The ground has been plowed for the Lavender but the rocks need to be picked. I will wait until it is a bit cooler to work on that job. I am just weeding, watering and looking after the greenhouse. I do think the plants are not strong enough to plant yet.
This picture was taken right outside our back. Poor little Robin must be living on her nerves she thinks she has to fly away every time we walk by. Look at the beautiful eggs they really are amazing.
I am off to walk down the road my husband just came home and told me there is a forest fire and that I can see the smoke from down the road. It is not close to us so we are fine.

As you can see the computer.Internet has decided to let me post again. Most of last week I could not upload things. It was a very crazy week last week. I do hope it slows down to a nice comfortable Summer now. In the picture I posted you will see the Lavender with the spit on it. I wonder what kind of bug makes that happen? Poor beautiful Lavender. It is trying so hard to grow.
