Ahh Lavender, sweet smelling lavender.
Yesterday I came in from outside, the house was hot, very hot.
Yet for me it felt cozy and it smelled amazing.
It does not always smell amazing with a huge cat that should be outside and a smaller cat with stomach issues who should also be outside.

(however I can not kick them out my kids love them both)

Needless to say I burn a lot of incense, everyday several times a day.

Add the incense, plus all the Lavender products I have been working on.
 It smelled marvelous.
 I love it
Today will be another full day of doing things. It never seems to be done.
We will get the most out of our day and will take the time to enjoy the garden.

Yesterday the day was used up by building a gate, tearing down the fence in the hot, hot sun. So dusty. We did a good job.
The new garden is ready to be plowed. I am pretty sure I won't be planting too much this fall. I would like to but I am not sure if it would be better to wait until Spring. I find when you order plants in this hot weather they do not do very well.
Today I labeled products, cut out patterns, worked with yarn. All of the  jobs were tedious and and made me tired. And, yet they were a good bunch to get done. I am not very good at staying in the house. I need to be outside.
Our weather was a bit cooler today. It will be intersting to see what our fall brings

Ahh a wonderful good morning. I have been up bright and early visiting on the phone with my daughter while she heads to work.
Having a coffee in a wonderful Paris, Eiffel tower mug while I have been working on our web site.
And, dreaming of lavender gardens, lavender fields and Provence.
It is funny we dream or imagine being somewhere else. For me it is Europe the old stone buildings, the damp mornings, the little roads, small doorways, the simple climbing rose making it's way up the front of a building.
And, yet not for one minute do I take for granted HOME.
Why, because I have brought my travels home with me.
The memories, the good, dreams of my imagination.
I don't keep the stressful moments.
I only cherish the good. I bring it all to my home.
 I so love my home.
Step into my life and you will catch a glimpse of all good.
Oh the stress, the things to clean or fix it is all here. But the DREAMS, HOPES and INSPIRATION are big, strong and win over.
Have a wonderful Friday, have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy your home

Very busy here today.
Lip balm batches being made. I am finishing up on the second batch now. The first set has a great healing herb oil in it. I am testing it on myself on my arms right now.

As soon as the label are ready I will be adding the lip balm, creams, soap, linen water to the web site.

Two of my sons are putting in fence posts for the new garden. I will have the wire up I hope by the end of  August. I do not think any planting will be done until next spring. I need to see how the water sits, work the soil, pick those never ending rocks. And, most of all goat proof the pen.

I need to think how I would like to plant my garden. More thought into these ones.
In my antique fence garden is going to be herbs. That one needs to be dug up, replanted and cleaned out. The Lavender gardens I need to see how the sun sits, see how the winter run off sits, and make it pleaseing to the eye.

New soap to be added to the web site

Beautiful, Amazing, Summers day!
It is warm outside.
I have been making little bundles of lavender. These little bundles will be nice dried and would be great for decorating your home.
This morning when I took my son in for his last day of hockey school. I went up town to one of the local stores. It is a coop of around ten artists that share a store to sell their art in. Art ranging in sewing, quilts, soaps, cards, stain glass etc. I am thinking of joining. Years ago when my children were very young I was part of this group.
I have to make this decision.
 Can I commit?
The only problem is the committing to the 2-3 days in the store. It is from 10 - 5pm. If I can do that the rest is no problem. Time to do some soul searching. I really am a stay at home person.... okay off to make some decisions. By the way I hate having to decide something

Green Forest Man Lavender in Naramata
Last summer my husband took me on a road trip one Saturday. We were off to Naramata I had never been there or actually I had never heard of it before. I had to bring out the Maps and I find where this town was. After getting lost we found a very nice Lavender farm. Oh I so love Lavender farms.
We did not stay too long but I enjoyed my time there so much. I ended up getting to know Karolina. We became face book friends, I made purchases and we became Internet friends.
My other friend went to visit Naramata and ended up at the lavender farm and she met Karolina they ended up talking about me :) small world!
Long story  made short is that Karolina sent me six very wonderful amazing Lavender plants. How awesome is that.
I was so excited!
 I so needed them!
THANK YOU A HUNDRED TIMES OVER!
I would like to plow up a field and put in a few more plants. Not all our fields as we need fields for our livestock but a little more would be perfect.
Since the lavender project is mine and it is a lot of work for one person. I know not to plant acres just gardens. Lots and Lots of gardens...

Good Morning
A good morning here
Early starts to the day, cool morning, warm hot summer afternoons. Our week has been extremely busy hockey school for my youngest son. So my days have been as early as four thirty then my daughter and I have been taking turns on the day times in town. I am so grateful for her taking her brother to town.
That means gardening and farming is happening in the evening. Still Lavender is to be harvested I can see it finishing.

While I am sitting outside the arena this early morning I am imagining what it is like waking up in France or Europe. I have woke up early in both thanks to my Mom. Not for one minute do I take for granted my own country. I love my home. But, the dreamer in me is for sure dreaming this morning.
The soft morning lights, the sounds of the birds and the beautiful fragrance of the lavender fields. Today I am going to take the time to enjoy my lavender gardens and dream they were lavender fields.

I have a decision to make! Should I change my blog over to add it to my web site? I could redirect this blog to the new one. Any ideas let me know what you think. The new blog would be attached to my web site, match etc.
You can add a comment here or email me at judy-sue@petitcreeklavender.com

Take time today, take time to find a moment. Look up and breath deep

Early start to the mornings.
It sure does feel like fall not even 5 above here this morning.
We are in hockey school for my youngest son. Sigh... I am not a fan of cold arenas.
Yesterday was a busy productive day.
Items were labeled, wrapped, boxed and recipes were wrote out.
I made amazing Lavender linen water, that is honestly one of my favorites. I love it. I use the spray every day on my bed in my closet. I take the spray and use it in the living room.
It is wonderful to freshen up a room.
Have a great day

I published my web site after many, many months and after many years of trying.
I could never get any local help, months would go by then years.
Then late one night I stumbled across this site and started.
I am sure there are other sites that maybe easier, cheaper etc but for now lets give this one a go.

Okay!!! yeah me.

Another beautiful sunny, windy day here on the farm. We have been busy. We go from one project to another project. Then come in take a little time to regroup and off we go again. We are trying to fit so much into summer. Sigh before you know it will be time to be putting the gardens to bed getting ready for winter. Really hardly any summer at all this year.
I have been thinking of planting a few more varieties of lavender next year. I am also going to redo my little white garden. We took out all the planter boxes then this fall I will take out the plants I want dig up the rest. Most of this little garden I think will be perfect for the herbs.

HORRIBLE

So close so very, very close. I am ready to hit the publish button. My web site will be up and running in the few days. Oh my goodness it is so hard to type in those little boxes.
Now I have to concentrate on the last of the lavender. Some of the lavender is not ready yet, it is amazing the lavender is not wind blown.
The farm has been very busy with painting , fencing, collecting escaping goats, product making, web page building... yes very busy.

My poor house is a mess. A wonderful creative, amazing mess. I have projects all over the kitchen. I must clean it up by the weekend.
It is funny how one little thing or project can suck up a whole day.

A wonderful, Creative, Amazing mess.
