Good Morning

All is well here on the farm. The last few weeks I have used up the extra time creating new products for the lavender house.

Fresh new products:
We have some gentle scented candles in fun mason jars.
We have new burlap in purple and red full of this years lavender. The give off such a wonderful rustic scent.
We have some sage and lavender smudge sticks in the making. Great for creating a clear and calming surrounding.
Wonderful lavender wreaths all in green perfect for any time of year they dry natural and green and carry a wonderful scent.
A very nice 100% olive oil and lavender soap it is curing nicely for the next eight weeks or so.
Fresh filled sachets
Milk bath lavender bags
Pillow inserts
Dryer bags
Lavender bath salts
Really so much lavender goodness,

The lavender house will be filled with such great things.
There is still a ton of lavender to debud and use so I am sure I will be busy for the few months until harvest time again.

I have built the Peace Pole Garden ~ I love it. I will wait until next Spring to add the Plaque to it. In the garden it is all rocks with a few plants surrounding the pole plus our big Buddha graces the spot. Next year I hope to invite two day cares and let the children do a little celebration for

Peace

It is hard to believe I just came in with some fresh herbs after we have had some pretty heavy frosts our coldest night was yesterday minus eight.

So I am very grateful.
It was a Grandson day usually not too much works gets done but it was warm enough to be out side and roll up some hoses, pulls some weeds and do some general tiding up.
I have made up some more products today some nice little pillow inserts to put inside your pillow case for a nice gentle scent of Lavender ~ not too over powering.

Also made up some Lavender dryer bags which are great to throw into your dryer. I think I like them best when your clothes are nearly dried and it gives a nice delicate scent to your laundry.
My absolute favorite thing to do is use a Lavender dryer bag on my bed sheets and freshly washed pajamas.

Give them a tumble and then make my bed.
I really do sleep better on these nights.

A Lavender Shawl

This is Mama Alpaca and her very bad, very curious, full of adventure baby girl. The little girl has so much personality.
The Mama is the one who contributed her lovely fibre for this beautiful shawl that one of our customers made and she in turn gifted it to her Mom.

It is really beautiful and I know her Mom is going to be very warm this winter wrapped in this beautiful shawl. When she brought it up to show me it smelled wonderful of lavender.

The farm is slowing down.
Winter is creeping in closer

It was a good season
So
much
Planting so many new shrubs, new trees, new sitting area, two new gardens.

The gardens sit in all their rustic glory

Angels

Arches

We have added so much now I should be able to let it grow and I really think other than a few annuals that one adds in the Spring and Summer the gardens are full.
Imagine over the next few years as it fills and grows.

I have plans for a few more new products make some products we are short in. This morning I am on my third day of candle making.
Some fun scents and some great colours.

Next will be soap.
I would like to do that later today or tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend

Summer has come and gone.
It was a wild and busy one. So much was accomplished and at the same time we got behind in other things.
The lavender grew well and I add many new roses, shrubs, trees and flowers we added little fish ponds, fairy gardens and grapes. Right now it is all small but I can dream it, imagine down the road how beautiful it will all be.
I added many new things like the Summer solstice outside garden room, the new pixie grapes, grapes along the fence line of the gardens.

Our new project is a new garden to the left of the lavender house where we housed the ram.

How I will finish it I am not sure. I am thinking of having a roof on half of it and the back half a wall to set up an antique bar for tea and coffee
This area has one fence side all planted with trees that should grow up to make a nice screen and a couple of roses along the back and an open area for Yoga if a group would like to use it.

We have four inch lavender plants for sale Hidecote - zone four for four dollars

Life on the farm can be pretty incredible it is hard work, never ending work. You finish one job and another waits or the same job needs to be done a few hours later. In spite of the hard work it is very rewarding everything you do is for you, for your family for your future and for your moment.

We live on forty acres not too big and it is about twenty miles out of town. If I want to build a fence I can, If I want to put in a garden I can, If I want grapes cute little pixie grapes I can.

It is not Provence, it is not Italy, it is not Paris, it is not Maui, It is not England, it is not Germany, it is not the Swiss Alps, it is not Austria it is all of them all of them in my heart from my travels. I cannot nor do I want to live in all those wonderful places so I brought them home to me ~ I brought them home in my heart.

This is my home, my farm who I share with my family and My Mom and Dad

Petit Creek Lavender is the heart of many we have Grapes ~ green grapes, purple grapes and pixie grapes, we have Lavender eight varieties, we have Olives (we cannot eat them be can have the tree) we have Lemon, orange and lime trees, we have berries ~ raspberries, blueberries, strawberries.

We have wonderful old Moss here on the farm, we are rustic, unique, whimsical we have heart, we have fun, we dream and we are Inspired. We call Petit Creek Lavender Home.

In the Gardens

A wonderful day  here on the farm my days have been so busy they are a bit of a blur. We are blooming with most of the lavender some is ready to harvest others are a few steps behind. It is really pretty. I have been concentrating on the main lavender garden by the lavender house that is one you will see when you visit. The other gardens are off around on the property. I figure it is better to keep one set for visiting and keep the rest of the farm as our home.

The weather has been really warm. So everything is growing well soon as the heat continues the gardens will be pulled down a bit

We are taking times if you want to visit
soon the harvest is all over until next year

Last evening I used the time outside to work on the garden room. My youngest son and I hung the Sun and Moons on the wall a perfect Solstice evening.
We built an Arch out of cedar (okay one side is crooked but if you could see what we have to work with) vines planted, roses added and fence post dug in for the grapes. We just need to add the wire to help string the vines up.
As soon as you walk into the garden as sense of Peace comes over you ~ maybe one day you will visit and feel Peace.
I hope your day is full of blessings please take time to enjoy Mother Earth on this summer solstice, aboriginal day and first day of summer.

The lavender is closer to flowering within a few weeks the gardens will begin to show purple. It is starting slowly everyday a bit more a little like magic. The gardens are starting to show colour starting to burst with pride.

Today I have been harvesting roses beautiful, silky rose petals and today's harvest is to go into jelly sweet, decadent rose jelly.

The chamomile is also ready to harvest the sweet, relaxing chamomile. It never fails to amaze me how much the gardens have to offer.

The lilacs nearing their finish I have a cauldron full of sweet lilac water waiting to be made into lilac jelly.

Off to harvest on this wonderful day

Saturday, June 1, 2013

Hard to believe it is June first I can not believe how fast the months are going by.
The gardens are doing well and in spite of our not so great weather the lavender is starting to show little bits of purple.
My main goal the last month has been finishing up the new garden it has been a battle this was my last chance to fix it or take it out.
I have nearly all the row planted then it will be weeding and babying the plants.
I am sure I will loose some but cross your fingers they take.

A good day today.

Several years ago I went on a trip to Europe with my Mom and daughter it was a wonderful three weeks. When we traveled through France I purchased some Lavender sachets they always reminded me of my Oma . Her suitcase always smelled so good everything lined with tissue paper and the scent of lavender.
Then we took another trip this time to Maui and we visited the Lavender farm high on hills, among the mist over looking the ocean. It was so amazing so much Peace came over me. I loved every second of meeting Alii Chang and spending the afternoon among his gardens.

There after the trip to Europe (I have traveled to England three times) plus the two trips to Maui the seed was planted, I need lavender.
I planted plants around my yard, then I planted my first lavender garden I was excited and inspired. No rules just plant lavender. Then it was followed by another small garden both gardens have done well in spite of our winters, pine trees and extreme changing weather every few weeks. Then I put in the Lavender house garden it was added into two sections as money was found to purchase more lavender plants.

Then the following summer in went another new garden each garden was getting bigger, getting bigger ach time when I could talk my dad into handing over pasture. This garden was named the Eiffel tower Gate.
Now we are working on the last garden and the biggest of all and the most challenging. Then I tell myself no more enjoy the gardens all six of them. Lavender farming is extremely hard work.

Lavender gives a sense of Peace, Romance and goodness.

There is a magic to it.

I have not been idle with not writing just no computer. Something simple turned out to be a whole lot more work for the computer techs.
The gardens are marching along yesterday I saw tiny little buds on some of the lavender plants. That always amazes me how we can be watching and miss how it creeps up on us.
We went through a very warm spell very nice and hot now we are going through some cold. My house is freezing.

I started to harvest honeysuckles, lilacs, and may flowers. The flowers caught me off guard not sure why I guess I am just to busy doing non garden things.
Well must run harvesting to do. Have a great day

Good Morning let’s hope for a wonderful day on my snow covered ground. I am so grateful I worked in the one garden all day yesterday it was a good job to get done am I finished no never because I can tell you those weeds are amazing grow so fast and so crazy :)
On the weekend I had a tantrum with myself all the hard work, all the clean-up and catch up to be undone in two days of a windstorm. I tell you I was ready to quit - you know the old thoughts why am I doing this, what's the point.....well I love to work on our farm I love to do it because it is for us for me.
I did realize I must not get any bigger with the gardens as it is too much work for one person. Today I am going to plan a better plan on the new garden my way now is not working-this is sad as I had a great vision. Ahh but no fear by the end of the day I will have it figured out.
So on this note I hope your day is warm with no snow and I hope I get a load of Inspiration and I can make things happen.
Lavender thoughts to all of you

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Good Morning it has been a very early start her this morning up at 4:30 turned on the lights, turned on the computer and the coffee. Then climbed into bed way too cold again and waited for my son and his girlfriend to arrive home. They traveled all night now they are tucked into bed for a sleep before they start the day.
Yesterday was an amazing work day for me. Garden at the Lavender house is being worked on it really is never ending and it will never be perfect why? Because the wind and pine trees like to keep me on my toes.
That was a full day then after supper we cleaned the barn out that was a good job to have done.
Today will bring some soap making.

Good Morning HAPPY EARTH DAY.
 A -6 morning but I see sunshine.
What should we do today to celebrate Earth day. When my children we little we always did a project - we bought a compost or planted a tree usually something went into the ground.
For some reason I remember it being warmer back then.
I will tell you if I have plans for celebrating right now I just might need long johns to do my chores.
My youngest son and I have been making an outside oven, it has been a bit of work I hope it actually materializes into something.

Good Morning yesterday while walking in the gardens I noticed the darn weeds are loving April. Man can those weeds grow like carpets ahh so depressing. However the weeds will have to wait for a bit while I do some real farming I have to rearrange chicks, build walls and fix a roof or two-a terrible amount of work in the Spring. I used to be able to work morning to night but now I only can catch a few hours in the morning and a few in the evening. So on that note I had better run some children to the school bus and get my act together. Things to do, projects to finish, Inspiration to find...have the most marvelous day ever!!

Gardening at the lavender house. I am trying to add plants, decorations that are easy to keep and do not require a lot of water. We get so hot in the summer it is really hard to keep up with the water.

Rhubarb is starting to push it's way through the ground. I love how it looks when it first starts to grow.

My brother and his two kids visited the lavender house over the Easter weekend.
I have many cuttings started in the greenhouse of lavender. I hope they all make it. I need them for my new garden, the garden we put in last fall.

Sunday, April 7, 2013

A very good Morning at the start of our day it is chilly again so far.
Today we are visiting a college daughter with our other daughters and a little boy should be a nice day.
I am so pleased my green house is organized; I am trying a different approach this year in the green house weeds will be the death of me and our summers get so intense hot I have to figure a way to make the plants thrive not fry.
As I look out the window did you know it is snowing, man that is so depressing.

Looks like it should be a nice weekend. While we garden, walk outside, go jogging, taking in nature - keep a journal.

A journal to write what you see, how you feel, what you are grateful for. Press flowers, take photos, garden clippings there are so many ideas.
For those who cannot get out to walk you still can enjoy a nature journal cut out pictures of magazines, draw, paint the ideas are endless.
If you start a garden, a nature journal or a dreaming journal you are welcome to share it or share any ideas.
Go on if you are not doing one now go start one.
I will start one also.

Lavender is there ever too much?

 I don’t think so.

In the green house I am starting little lavenders I do hope they take. I have a full new garden to fill.

A fresh rain gave us a nice clean greener morning. It was nice to look around and see the little bits of green spring has brought us.

Herbs are planted in the green house, tomatoes started and the seed packages are just waiting for me to start.

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

A very good morning!!! What wonderful things will find us all today? Have you started your garden seeds yet? Later today I am planting Calendula a wonderful healing plant~full of small miracles. Maybe a few Poppies, an annual mixture will be fun and Black eyed Susan~Rudbeckie.

Just checked a few things in the garden - while our Grandson naps. Thyme is up, Mint is up, onions are up, lavender in the small garden is waking, and chives are up and smelling wonderful. Every time I weed or garden and I hit the chives it makes me want to go in and eat :) I bought a compost bucket today not for the garden but for our new pigs. I never compost with scraps here because it brings us some lovely bears-we have enough compost from our farm living but now this really cute little bucket can help feed my pigs-who I am sure are going to get expensive.

Checked some of the plants I can see I lost a few :( last night we put in some fence post in the most miserable hard (like cement) soil ever. We put them in around our toy area so our Grandson has a clean, safe place to play. This should keep out the dogs and it will take a bit of time but I will make it really nice for him.

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Well the last three weeks have been crazy busy between cleaning the gardens, cleaning the farm, the barn too many times to count, lambing-still have two more to go that means burning the candle at both ends. Chores have doubled, work has doubled and I am just tired. A good tired but I need to go to bed.

The lavender house is happy, organized will fine tune it when it slows down in a bit. My big order is done being picked up this weekend. I still see many pine needles among the plants but that is ongoing.
I wish you all a Happy Easter weekend enjoy some quiet time, find time for a great project or two. I will check in again. Pleasant dreams

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Spring time they say 1st day of Spring we always have celebrated on the 21st but hey we will celebrate for two days if Spring wants to come.
At 3:50am it was pouring rain out so let’s hope that is going to keep the snow away.
We have been working like crazy on the gardens, I am sure if you drove in my yard you might not notice but this is a working farm and we get messy. Hay, pine needles, weeds pretty much some up the mess.
It is a bit early to see if we lost any lavender there are a few plants that look dry and are iffy.
We will wait it out the most frustrating thing can be is we lose the main plant but it comes from the root but basically it is like starting all over again.

I have to plan how we should celebrate. How are you going to celebrate the 1st day of Spring

Thursday, March 7, 2013

Good Morning.
What wonderful things await for us today! My day is going to have company of a little boy. It is amazing to watch him learn new things.
During nap time I have a Great Creative Moment.
The lavender house is bursting and I should be set for the summer.

We have wonderful new bath salts with a combination of five exotic salts soaked in rich essential oils.
The soaps I made last night are a light hint of pink Rose and Lavender Soap perfect for Mother's Day.
I have baby lavenders started and it seems most of them have taken.
I am finishing up a large order for another Lavender Farm.

I hope your day is creative, inspirational and clever.

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

Darn It!!!! It is all white again outside ahh so not cool. Late afternoon yesterday I was outside raking, burning pine needles. I actually was smiling while working excited because I remembered the time changes... Spring.

Yesterday when I checked my peacocks I noticed there food had not seemed to be touched so I had my son hold the door shut while I removed them from their roost. Thank goodness for hats on sweatshirts. Yup I had a peacock sitting on me again! It was so funny they are quite big birds and seem so solid when they fly into your head!

While it is still snowing out there I am getting ahead with a lot of products for the Lavender House. We have some sweet aprons, t-shirts and canvas bags.

Friday, March 1, 2013

A Wonderful Friday Morning! I do love Fridays. Still too chilly out there to do any gardening but I was thinking I might find a few pine needles to rake.

March 1st so far is in like a Lamb. Oh I do love Spring! everything starts to wake up we can start in the gardens, the birds arrive home again, you can hear the birds singing, new lambs, baby chicks and the snakes are still asleep. Oh yeah I am off to look for a bit of Spring today.

Hope your afternoon is going great! So windy here but managed to do a bit of raking. Man I hate pine needles! Did a bit of skipping I am getting better at this I would do even better if my Dog would not need to skip with me. I am painting my Apothecary cupboard, rearranging my essential oils while I wait for my kidlets to get home. I love a day full of good progress how about you?

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Good Sunday Morning.
So I am in charge of the farm for the next 2 weeks!!! What should I do? What should I start? Hmm what wonderful thing to do to surprise my Dad :) all my best projects are done when he is away. I built the gates at the bottom of the driveway I repaint them wonderful colours when he is away. I started the first Lavender garden when he is away, and several after when he was off with Mom visiting my sister. I have built rock paths, moved in gravel; built wonderful lavender houses, built green houses and painted a giant carrot on his root cellar much, much more.
Darn it I wish we did not have so much ice then I could really get down to a new project.
One project before Easter is I would like to build a swing with my husband for our Grandson. However we have a 5 foot snow bank at the moment where it will go.
Oh must go get Inspired fast I think I have 2 weeks but they always come home early.
I hope your day is full of amazing Inspiration and send some my way I need to work fast. Oh what should I do?

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

You can take a few drops of 100% Essential oil and put it on a cotton ball and tuck into your clothes, shoes and linen closet.
Freshen it up
We have made about forty little lavender plants it is a bit early but we will see if they work.
The problem is running out of space in the house if I do find these cuttings take I will for sure jump in and make more.
Some of the plants are peeking through the snow now and others by the lavender house are completely uncovered

Friday, February 8, 2013

Good day.
Ahh it is Friday thank goodness.
Chilly morning here which is not cool after yesterday was so amazing. I need to finish up with some labeling.
I need to dig out my recipes. I have some huge orders to fill and the only thing stopping me is fear :)
This next week I have to work like a maniac "work like I am getting paid" And, pray that each batch works.

I hope you have the most Magnificent Day Ever!

Thursday, February 7, 2013

What wonderful things will come to us today?
Tip for the day next time you clean your bath room or kitchen use a 100% Essential oil in a spray bottle with some water to use as an antibacterial.
If you use Vinegar to clean add some Lavender to help with the scent.

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Good Morning I hope your day is starting off well. Here is something for you try if your feet are rough feeling on the heels and if your feet are aching take 6 drops of Lavender 100% essential oil in a bowl of warm water and soak your feet in this nice hot bath So important you use 100% Essential Oil if you do not it will not have any therapeutic

How is your day going? I am dreaming, planning and thinking all in lavender. lavender thoughts for our up and coming season. Distiller, plants, products and not so lavender chickens, ducks, milk cow and geese. I like to keep my mind varied.

During nap time today I made some great large bottles of Lavender Mist. While I am working with the Lavender the fragrance starts to blend in and I do not notice it much. Yet when I came back in the house from going to the bus stop this afternoon the fragrance hit me at the back door. It really was amazing.

It never fails to amaze me how many uses Lavender is good fo,r from food stress, relaxation, headaches, aches/pains, burns, vacuuming, air freshener, bug repellent there is literally hundreds of uses

Good Morning!
A special day here today It is my Dad's birthday today.
 "Happy Birthday Dad"
I baked him a cake, made him some butter tarts, some Lavender salts and a little present. As soon as I pick a little boy we are off to have coffee. Since my Dad became sick (a very long time now) I have just about made it every single morning for coffee with Mom and Dad.
Woohooo How awesome is that?
My family and I and live on the same property as Mom and Dad we are so lucky to live this way.
And, I love how they love my projects :) :0 :).
Last night my husband helped me put some of the shelves in the Little Lavender house that I painted. I am not sure why when I dream it always looks better than the reality :( needs some improving, granted we working in the dark and cold. I have a few more pieces to paint then I will look for Inspiration and make it magical and beautiful.
However we are concerned Salem the lavender cat will love it all too much he does not have that name for nothing :)

A Wonderful Good Morning!!
What incredible things today will come our way? I have the morning to work then it is off to find a very cute little Grandson.
I don't know about you but I am itching to get outside in the gardens to feel the warm sun.
Our Lavender is still asleep so I hope you have been enjoying the pictures I have been sharing from the internet.
Welcome to all our new people, it is really wonderful I love the thought I share a little bit of my crazy life with you people from all over the world. Have the most incredible day ever!!!
Hope good things find us all!!

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Good Sunday today I am continuing painting shelves and little holding cupboards for the Little Lavender House. The Little Lavender house is going to be a little garden shed. Very cute it will still have the paper white wash/gray walls and words of Inspiration hanging up. The Shelves will be painted old (which are in the process all over my kitchen, I have until 8pm tonight) There will be garden pots, garden gloves, Lavender plants and garden Inspiration for sale in the Little Lavender House. There will be garden signs, and other garden Inspiration.  All products and stock will be in small quantities. I think we will have Bamboo for sale (in the spring/summer months only) I will have a “Succulent Bar”. I love succulents they are so forgiving and so easy to look after.

This will be a lovely addition to our Lavender House

One way to benefit from a short term use of Lavender Essential Oil is to add a few drops into a tissue to help with stress, nausea or Labor, when the scent is no longer needed throw away the tissue.

This is a perfect way for a light use of the oil when used in a room where it is not beneficial to share the aromatherapy.

We sell three sizes of Lavender Essential Oil

We have been cold, it seems to be hanging in here now for awhile.
This does give me time to plan my year, to dream of what I would like to happen. Since I watch our Grandson now quite a bit, I am trying to get things made for the Lavender house. That should help when Spring gardening and the real works starts  I will be ahead of the game.

I have been researching my plans for the little Lavender House this will be such a fun project. I am looking forward to it warming up so I can start.

Sunday, January 20, 2013

Good Morning.

 Happy Sunday!
Another busy weekend here it is a shame how fast they go.
I have been planning things for the lavender house.
Nothing as great as building the house or another garden now just enhancing what I have.
One thing nice about living on a farm if you hunt deep enough you will find what you are looking for without having to buy a lot.
Thank you for liking my Petit Creek Lavender Face Book Page, I enjoy sharing with you.
(if you go to the FB page you can see the pictures there. I can not figure out how to add photos here anymore)
I look forward to finding new things to take pictures of you to share a bit of how our days go.
Soon Lavender will bless us and I can share more pictures of the wonderful herb.

 Have a marvelous day

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Good Morning!!
We are deep in our cold freeze but they tell us we could be up to 8 or 10 degrees by Friday. If we are you will not see me for I will be outside dreaming of gardens...and those hidden pine needles buried deep under our snow.
Ahh so excited to get out in the gardens again. I am dreaming in purple this early morning up for hours with my MIND running three hundred miles ahead of me. I have been doing a lot of research the last few mornings and middle of the nights, research on how many uses, on how wonderful lavender is. I am not saying that just because I grow and sell Lavender products it really is truly amazing.
I started the lavender farm strictly because I love the plant, the herb, the aroma, the romance of the plant.
The Lavender farm is just an excuse to have many, many plants so I can sit in all my glory and deep breath.~ or ~ because I have a very busy nature and I am FULL of Inspiration just busting to get out.

Just remember to use 100% Essential Oil so important! So important for all that goodness it offers.

Okay finished rambling I am off to get ready for that busy Grandson of ours. Exciting day we have a giant box, my husband cut a door, windows and we are playing all day in it. I hope your day is awesome.

I have many new ideas!!
Today I start to write them down.
 Then the Creativity begins.
I don't think they will be as big as last years.
Why?
 Because last year was awesome.

You might want to remind me not to make too many big ideas :)
